Creating a Splash

Would you like to become visible to your target market without spending a lot of money on advertising? Who wouldn't? One way of doing that is to get publicity for your business.

But that is easier said than done. Of course if your could be on the front page of a major newspaper in a city, or on a TV current affairs show (as a good news story), this is likely to attract many people who would be otherwise unaware of you, to your business.

Third party recognition of the value you provide adds enormously to your credibility. I don't have to convince you that this is a good thing- but how do you do it?

Journalists have become cynical and are inundated with media releases. Most are just blatant marketing promotion which all end up in the round file.

To be noticed by a journalist, it is important to have some angle in your release. Something new, something topical, something interesting. Your release must also be well written, and it must be targeted. No good sending your release on new accounting software to the arts editor, no matter how good the software is.

For an example of a good result from publicity, please look at this article in the Sydney Daily Telegraph which is the result of a media release.

What are you doing to get publicity for your business?

All you need to do now is to Empower yourself and take action ...

Have a great week!
